Jennifer Lopez is a Jacqueline of all trades. Still, the singer-actress-entrepreneur and single mom to her 6-year-old twins, Emme and Max, admits she has room to grow.
The Puerto-Rican star recently opened up to Elle UK in its October issue about love, kids, her career, and even making mistakes.
“Is it worth making mistakes, in my case in public, and trying to figure out what you do and balance everything and constantly grow?” Lopez told the British mag. “I’d say yes. None of it is easy, none of it is safe – you are going to get big highs and you are going to get big lows, so it’s not for everyone – but that’s exciting. You just need to believe in yourself.”
She also spoke about her high-profile romances and how she’s still looking for “the one” after every heartbreak she has endured. “I still believe in love. The nirvana man, he’s out there somewhere. But you just have to work at it. You have to work at everything.”
The “Luh Ya Papi” singer undeniably has a zest for self-confidence and the belief she can do it all despite the trials and tribulations she’s faced in life. One constant in her life that aids in her personal pursuit of happiness is humility, something she’s passing on to her 6-year-old twins with ex-husband Marc Anthony — Emme and Max. “My kids go and stay in a one-bedroom apartment in the Bronx all the time, or a studio with their aunts, uncles and cousins and their grandmother,” she revealed. “They get it.”
So what should we expect her next album to be all about? Love, of course.
“Every single album I have ever made is about love. But I am not going to give up. I’ve got to hope that if I keep going, I will eventually get it right.”
The October issue of Elle UK hits new newsstands on Thursday, September 4.
