Gina Rodriguez Nominated for Golden Globe, Gets Confused for America Ferrera by Twitter

The 2016 Golden Globe nominations are in, and this year’s nominees do not dissapoint. Among those nominated is our girl Gina Rodriguez for Jane the Virgin.

The Golden Globes official Twitter account made a rather big mistake Thursday morning during its nominations announcement, when it identified America Fererra as Gina Rodriguez. Two tweets with pictures of Fererra — who was announcing the nominations — tagged Gina’s handle. The tweets were deleted, but people noticed.

Gina was pretty chill about the whole thing though. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, the actress brushed off the mix-up:

“I didn’t hear anything until recently someone sent me an article, but who cares? America’s lovely. She’s so beautiful and such a fantastic actress. If there’s anybody I want to get mixed up with — it’s her for sure! To me, it’s like, whatever. We always make mix-ups in life, man.”

Among other Latinos nominated is Alejandro G. Iñárritu is also nominated for Best Director for his work on The Revenant.

The 73rd Golden Globe Awards hosted by Ricky Gervais will air on Jan. 10 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
