Christina Aguilera and Pharrell Williams will both return to coach the eighth season of NBC’s The Voice.
Veteran coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will also be back to coach an eighth round of future superstars.
Aguilera is returning to her big red chair after a two-season hiatus to give birth to her second child, Summer Rain Rutler. Shakira served as coach during season six of the competition, and newcomer Gwen Stefani filled in for Aguilera during the seventh cycle.
“We are excited to welcome Christina back to her red chair and can’t wait to see how she mixes things up among Adam, Blake and Pharrell in what will be in an incredibly competitive competition,” NBC Entertainment said in a statement. “These four talented artists are at the top of their game as musicians and as coaches. The mentoring is sure to be intense, and the stakes will be high.”
