After 20 years of parading down the most important catwalks of the fashion world, Gisele Bündchen is retiring, reports The Telegraph. The Brazilian supermodel, 34, will allegedly make her last runway appearance at Colcci during São Paulo Fashion Week next month.
However, the world’s highest-paid model will still continue to appear in campaigns and editorials, so no need to bid adieu yet.
Bundchen has built one of the most solid careers in the modeling industry. In 2014, she made an estimated $47 million.
The Brazilian publication Moda Estadão first reported the news, claiming it is Bündchen’s dream to end her catwalk career in her native Brazil, where her beauty was first spotted by the Elite modelling agency when she was just 14.
The news shouldn’t come as a surprise, though. The mother-of-two has scaled down her runway appearances, choosing instead to focus on high-profile campaigns, her own footwear and lingerie brands, her work as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations, and, of course, being a mom.
