Antonio Banderas knows a thing or two about fashion. He is currently enrolled in the prestigious Central Saint Martins London art school to take college classes in fashion design and is interested in becoming a designer. Now, he was named as Miami Fashion Week’s honorary president.
“With his creative talent, his connections and his charisma he will give a new push to Miami Fashion Week,” said Julio Iranzo, MFW’s president, Miami.com reports.
As for making Miami the home to his bespoke creative talents, in a recent statement, Banderas said that Miami is experiencing “strong growth in all areas.”
Banderas has his hand in other ventures as well, including creating fragrances for men and women with Spanish fragrance company Puig. “The world of perfume is very close to fashion,” he told the school’s magazine 1Granary. “At Puig we have many people that are in the fashion world, and for them perfumes are an accessory. My team there realized that I didn’t just like going around to promote the perfume, so they started exploring other aspects of me that were not public.”
Miami Fashion Week kicks off June 2016.
