When Apple’s built-in health app launched in the fall with iOS 8.2, it seemed to have ignored one major thing: women’s health.
Yesterday, at their Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple showcased the next version of the iPhone Health app, complete with new innovations, including the ability to track your period and fertility. The company is calling it “reproductive tracking,” and it’ll be added to the Health app as part of the upcoming iOS 9 update, reports TechCrunch.

Now, you’ll be able to check where you are in your reproductive cycle — alongside how many steps you’ve taken that day, and how many calories you’ve consumed with the HealthKit app.
Other updates will include the ability to track the amount of time you spend standing, your UV exposure, water-intake tracking and your “sedentary state.”
iOS 9 is now available as a beta to developers later today, and as a public beta that you can sign up for in July. It’ll be available to the rest of us when it launches alongside this year’s new iPhones in the fall. It’s one small step for man, one giant step for womankind!
