Jennifer Lopez took the stage to perform the highly anticipated and absolutely beautiful tribute to the late Selena Quintanilla-Pérez at the Billboard Latin Music Awards on Thursday night.
With old footage of Selena playing in the background, Lopez opened the performance with Quintanilla’s famous hit “Como La Flor” while wearing a dazzling crop top with bedazzled pants under a sheer overlay — just like the iconic Tejano star would have done it.
Fans were choked up to see that Lopez was joined on stage by Selena’s siblings Suzette and A.B. and widow Chris Pérez, aka Los Dinos, playing in the band.
J.Lo ripped her sheer overlay off and transitioned to the upbeat “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom.”
Lopez continued serenading the audience with a few of Selena’s big hits, like “Amor Prohibido,” “I Could Fall In Love,” and “No Me Queda Mas,” but noticeably left out “Dreaming of You,” which was a bit of a bummer.
She, along with Los Dinos, got a bit emotional throughout the tribute and understandably so.
Sigh, it was all just so beautiful. Watch the can’t-miss performance below.
